Reporting to the owner, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for wood framing construction projects.
You will work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure that your estimates are comprehensive and compliant with all project specifications.
Essential Job Responsibilities Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for wood framing construction projects.
Review and analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documents.
Conduct quantity takeoffs to determine the number of materials required for each project.
Research and gather pricing data for materials, labor, and equipment.
Estimate labor costs based on project complexity, crew size, and labor rates.
Prepare bid proposals and present them to potential clients and negotiate contract terms.
Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as needed.
Track project costs, identify potential cost savings and maintain database of project information and data.
Provide project status reports to project managers and clients.
Stay up to date on current construction codes and standards.
Attending industry seminars and conferences to stay informed of new trends and techniques.
Train and mentor new estimators.
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

years of experience in wood framing construction estimating.
Proven ability to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, labor rates, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
Experience with estimating software a plus.
